IADs 2500-HP Twin-Turbo Land Shark

Its creation is called Mosler MT900 GTR XX Twin Turbo (aka “The Land Shark”) and uses generous amounts of carbon fiber, magnesium and titanium throughout the bespoke chassis and 381 cu. in. engine to create a monster of a Mosler. The chassis has been completely stripped and replaced by a modular composite structure said to weigh less than 100 lb. Dripping wet, curb weight comes out to a scant 1898 lbs.

Its engine is just as surreal. Cranks, rods, sleeves, cams and just about every other mechanical component were replaced by an aluminum, titanium or magnesium copy. Regular LS7 V-8 powered Mosler MT900Ss make a respectable 550-hp, whereas the IAD Land Shark cranks out 2500-hp. Yes, you read that correctly. And according to IAD owners, it’s fully street legal and qualifies as a ‘hybrid’ in California due to its multi-fuel type (hydrogen, ethanol, gasoline) fuel system.

Significant work also was done to the Mosler’s exterior. Numerous splitters, diffusers, intakes, outlets and a sealed flat belly all keep the supercar planted and not in the air. Twenty-inch rear, 19-in. front magnesium and carbon fiber Dymag wheels wrapped in rubber big enough to make a steam roller envious ensure grip is always on tap.

Supposedly, with everything tuned and ready to rock and roll, the Land Shark speeds past 62 mph in 2.5 sec on its way to a limited v-max of 305 mph. Engineers state their wind tunnel and computer tests show a possible 375 mph top speed, but they smartly haven’t tried. Check out its other numbers: 0-150 mph in 6.7 sec.; 0-250 mph in 17.5 sec.; 0-150mph-0 takes 8.7 sec. Pretty amazing on paper, yes. But until this thing is put to the track and tested, we’re not yet true believers.

And for these reasons of skepticism, IAD has scheduled to run the Land Shark at this year’s Bonneville Speed Week. After this speed attack is certified by the Guinness Book of World Records, IAD will ship its creation to Germany for some runs on the famed Nurburgring circuit with non other than seven-time F1 world champ Michael Schumacher behind the wheel. This one comes from the private collection of Mr. V. Raghunathan, President of ING Vysya Bank. It’s a original 10.5 x 8 x 3 cms made of brass, est. to be from later 19th to early 20th century. ‘A rare lock, it displays an amazing understanding of topology by the master craftsman of Aligarh. All attempts to insert the key into the keyhole will typically be unsuccessful! Interestingly, it is impossible to design a key which can be inserted into the keyhole directly, says the label.’

The All New Mega Apple Ipod Touch 2nd Generation With Improved Features

Apple IPod Touch is the new generation PDA type gadget from Apple Inc. which is known for its high end multimedia capabilities like any other portable media player. Also this gadget from Apple has revolutionized the multimedia and mobile/PDA industry with its class. With a multi touch screen of quality display and a quality Music and Video playback capability, this has become the most sought luxury gadget at this price range which is not more. It has Wi-Fi, Internet connectivity, 16GB/32GB flash memory for storage and a variety of high end Apps and games, which either come prebuilt or can be downloaded. The IPod Touch 1^st Generation device was launched around September 2007, but the much hyped 2^nd Generation of the same device with 32 GB of storage space has been selling successfully worldwide since its recent launch.

Ipod Touch 2^nd Generation comes with 32 GB of storage space which can be used to store several multimedia files like music, videos, images and movies too besides applications, games and other data. You can sync the iTouch (this nick name given to the device by media but was not accepted by English speaking users) with your PC/Mac using the USB and transfer all favourite music/videos/movies/images it. You can install a number of software/applications and games of your choice easily either by connecting to Apple App Store via Wi-Fi Internet or by transferring files from PC/Mac. Music can be downloaded also by connecting to Apple’s iTunes Music Store via Wi-Fi. Also the video quality and playback control has been improved in this 2^nd generation Ipod Touch with a special sound control to the left of the gadget, which is to be used to adjust volume and all within the video playback itself. This was one of the setbacks in the 1^st generation iTouch, where you have to adjust volume in the video player and had to stop playing the video for it.

Online streaming videos can be viewed and downloaded besides Youtube videos for which there’s a special app. The multi touch screen is of 3.5” supporting a resolution of 480 X 320 px at 163 PPI. (Aspect Ratio – 3:2). Some of the prebuilt applications in the IPod Touch 2^nd Generation are the famous Safari Web Browser, respective Email and Youtube Client apps, Google Maps and many popular Mac widgets for Calculator, Calendar, Notes, Weather and others. The rechargeable battery (Lithium Ion) can sustain 6 hrs. of continuous video playback on a full charge while the stand by time is 36 hrs.

This is one of the major improvements this device has got over the 1st generation. The headphone that comes with the Ipod Touch can be plugged in when required, but it’s recommended to buy a better headphone that costs around $75 because this one provided with the IPhone may not be bad but is never the best. Nike+Ipod is a special sensor which transmits your workout information from your Nike shoes to the IPod Touch which acts as a receiver. This is thought as one of the innovative application/features in the Ipod Touch 2^nd generation, but features like GPS, Camera etc which are already present in the IPhone 3G.
