Twirling Spaghetti Fork: take it for a spin

As a person who is at the same time both lazy and uncoordinated, I did actually yell out, “Hey, alright!” when I came across this little gem of a gadget. The Twirling Spaghetti Fork does exactly what its name implies- it twirls your spaghetti for you.

Gone are the perils of sitting down to a tangled mess of spaghetti in your bowl. You can let go of those feelings of fear as you jab your fork into the tomato-sauced abyss and attempt to twist your wrist 360 degrees to get a simple mouthful of food. With this gadget, eating spaghetti need no longer be a two-handed affair.

To use, simply pop in 2AAA batteries, stick the prongs into your dinner and press the “on” switch. Then just sit back and watch as the mechanical fork does all of the work! People may laugh at you as you sit down at the table, but watch those smiles disappear as you calmly and cleanly finish off your meal while everyone else flicks bolognese into each others hair.

This is a great device for kids more than anything, as it will make dinner time just that bit more relaxed as you watch them actually bring food up to their mouths instead of dropping everything on the newly vacuumed carpet. The Twirling Spaghetti Fork comes in three brightly coloured designs which, granted, is not the most stylish thing to bring out at your next dinner party, but they will be guaranteed to be a hit the next time your house is filled with six-year-olds.

Philips Senso Latte Select. A new kitchen favourite

Philips launched their new Senso Latte Select Coffee Machine at this year’s IFA, which was lucky as after a few hours of wandering from stand to stand, I was feeling a bit drowsy. This latest addition to the already popular Senso family features an integrated, removable fresh milk container, which doesn’t sound anywhere near as high-tech as components for their TV range. The fresh milk container is a bit of an innovation in the upmarket coffee world though, as it automatically adds frothed milk to your coffee without you having to brave a steamer and make a milky mess all over your counter.

On first appearance, the system is even more convenient than any of its predecessors and still creates a very nice tasting coffee. The new model features an extra-large water reservoir that holds enough water to make up to 8 cups of coffee without refilling, which will keep you awake until mid-afternoon.

The improved adjustable cup tray accommodates a wide range of cup sizes, from Cappuccino cups to tall Latte Macchiato glasses. Unfortunately you will have trouble trying to fit your yard glass under there.

The new Senso Latte Select furthermore uses a dual heating system that ensures milk and coffee are ready at the same time. Try getting a 16-year-old Starbucks barista to be that precise.

What I really liked about the Senso Latte Select is that it addressed an issue that is the bane of every coffee machine owner’s life. No it doesn’t provide a new recipe for Rich Tea biscuits, but instead features a self-cleaning button. This combined with dishwasher-safe milk container and integrated milk frother makes it easy to remove that lovely milk residue that usually cakes on like super glue. As an added safety feature, there is an automatic shut-off which switches off the machine after 30 minutes.

Solar_powered_headphones_with_radio
There’s no need to worry about being music-less when you’re on the move again. These solar powered headphones with FM radio will run for up to 20 hours when fully charged. And one hour of sunlight will provide one-three hours listening. There are no wires to get in the way of walking, running, or whatever you fancy doing. Just music. The radio has a powerful internal antenna and extended base so you can keep everyone else entertained at the same time – sure to be popular on trains. And it recharges itself even when you’re listening to it, as long as you’re in the company of sun.

Heads big and small will love these headphones because the adjustable headband will accommodate all sizes. Plus you’re doing your bit for the environment at the same time.
